How to Sow Seeds

Method: Sow your Watermelon Candy Red seeds 12mm (½ in) deep, directly in their final position.
Spacing: Allow 100cm (3ft) between rows and 40-50cm (16-20 in) between clumps.
Thinning: Sow 4 or 5 seeds in clumps and later thin to the strongest two seedlings.
Growing notes: When the young plants have 5 or 6 leaves, pinch out their growing tips to encourage the growth of side shoots. Keep the plants well-watered and prepare the soil with organic material and a complete fertiliser for best results.
