Care Guide
Position & Soil
Grow in bright filtered light, gentle morning sun or part shade, with protection from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds. Use an acidic, freely draining soil or potting mix. Handle the fine roots carefully when planting and avoid burying the stem any deeper than it was in the pot.
Watering & Feeding
Water regularly so the root zone stays lightly moist, but never waterlogged. Check pots more often during warm or windy weather. Mulch to keep the roots cool, leaving space around the stem. Feed in the growing season with a controlled-release fertiliser for acid-loving plants or a half-strength soluble fertiliser.
Pruning
Remove spent flower clusters and lightly prune after a main flush to encourage fresh growth and a compact shape. Avoid heavy pruning into bare wood. Repot only when needed, moving up gradually by about 50mm in pot diameter so excess wet mix does not sit around the delicate root system.
Flowering, Fruiting & Fragrance
| Flower Colour | Reddish pink |
| Flowering Period | Repeat flowering, usually in two to three main flushes through the year. |

Vireya Rhododendron 'Saxon Glow' grows best in bright filtered light, gentle morning sun or part shade. Protect it from harsh afternoon sun, particularly during hot weather.

Water regularly enough to keep the mix lightly moist, then allow excess water to drain freely. Do not leave the roots sitting in saturated soil.
How big does Vireya Rhododendron 'Saxon Glow' grow?
Vireya Rhododendron 'Saxon Glow' can grow to around 600mm high and 600mm wide in suitable conditions.
Can Vireya Rhododendron 'Saxon Glow' grow in a pot?

Is Vireya Rhododendron 'Saxon Glow' low maintenance?
It needs moderate care rather than constant attention. Reliable moisture, good drainage, light feeding and a tidy prune after flowering will keep it growing well.
