Care Guide
Position & Soil
Grow in bright filtered light, gentle morning sun or part shade, with protection from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds. Use an acidic, freely draining soil or potting mix. Handle the fine roots carefully when planting and avoid burying the stem any deeper than it was in the pot.
Watering & Feeding
Water regularly so the root zone stays lightly moist, but never waterlogged. Check pots more often during warm or windy weather. Mulch to keep the roots cool, leaving space around the stem. Feed in the growing season with a controlled-release fertiliser for acid-loving plants or a half-strength soluble fertiliser.
Pruning
Remove spent flower clusters and lightly prune after a main flush to encourage fresh growth and a compact shape. Avoid heavy pruning into bare wood. Repot only when needed, moving up gradually by about 50mm in pot diameter so excess wet mix does not sit around the delicate root system.

Vireya Rhododendron 'Aravir' grows best in bright filtered light, gentle morning sun or part shade. Protect it from harsh afternoon sun, particularly during hot weather.

Water regularly enough to keep the mix lightly moist, then allow excess water to drain freely. Do not leave the roots sitting in saturated soil.
How big does Vireya Rhododendron 'Aravir' grow?
Vireya Rhododendron 'Aravir' can grow to around 1.5m high and 1m wide in suitable conditions.
Can Vireya Rhododendron 'Aravir' grow in a pot?
