How to Sow Seeds

Method: Direct sow
Growing notes: Sow your Rockmelon Hales Best seeds 12mm (1/2 in) deep directly in their final position. Plant 4 or 5 seeds in clumps, then thin to the two strongest seedlings. Space rows 50cm (20 in) apart, with 40-50cm (16-20 in) between clumps. When the young plants have 5 or 6 leaves, pinch out the growing tips to encourage side shoot development. If space is limited, grow alongside a trellis or fence. Keep the plants well-watered and prepare the soil by adding organic material and complete fertiliser for best results.
