How to Sow Seeds

Method: Direct sow
Growing notes: Sow Dwarf Green Curled Kale seeds thinly and directly into a well-prepared garden bed at a depth of 5mm (1/2in). Make sure the soil is moist before sowing. Space rows 45cm (18in) apart, and water gently but thoroughly after sowing. Seedlings typically emerge within 7-10 days.

Once the seedlings reach about 10cm (4in) in height, transplant them to their final positions, spacing them 45cm (18in) apart to allow for proper growth. Firm the soil around each plant and water well. This kale variety does best in cooler conditions and benefits from regular watering, particularly during dry spells. Applying a light layer of organic fertiliser during the growing season will encourage healthy leaf production.

Harvest individual leaves as needed once they are large enough, or allow the plants to grow fully for a larger harvest. Regular picking encourages continuous growth and keeps the plant productive throughout the season.
