How to Sow Seeds

Growing notes: All Year Round lettuce is one of the easiest varieties to grow, and can be grown at any time of year. Sow the seeds thinly, 5mm (1/4in) deep, in rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart. Keep the soil moist and thin the seedlings to 20-25cm (8-10in) apart. Keep the plants watered and free from weeds as they grow.

All Year Round lettuce-like all lettuce varieties—is a fast-yielding crop. Harvest when the head of lettuce has a firm heart, typically up to 10 weeks after sowing; picking in the morning is best, because that’s when the leaves are the freshest and juiciest.
