Is TifTuf suitable for a busy backyard?
Yes. Its high wear tolerance and recovery make it suitable for active lawns. Allow new turf to establish before heavy use.
How much turf should I order?
Use the Turf and underlay calculator above. Measure each section separately and choose an allowance for cutting waste if needed. The result rounds up to whole square metres.
Does the calculator include underlay?
Select Add underlay to estimate bulk volume and approximate 15 kg bags. Bag quantities are a rough guide. Confirm the appropriate depth and product quantity before ordering.
How do I order turf for pickup or delivery?
Place your order 2–3 days before you need your turf. We receive fresh turf 2–4 times per week, depending on the season.
We keep some Sir Walter turf in stock in our yard. All other varieties are special order only and must be ordered and paid for in advance.

How should I prepare before the turf arrives?
Finish preparing and levelling the area before delivery. Follow the installation guide for your variety, including suitable soil and drainage.
How soon should I lay delivered turf?
Plan to lay it on the day it arrives, especially in warm weather. Have your site ready so freshly cut turf spends as little time rolled up as possible.
How should I water my new lawn?
Water immediately after laying, then daily for the first week. After that, gradually space watering out to every second day, then every third day and so on as the turf establishes. Keep the turf and root zone moist, and water more often if hot, dry or windy conditions cause them to dry out.
When can I mow it for the first time?
The first mow is usually around six weeks after laying, once the roots have established into the soil and the turf is firmly anchored. Timing varies with the season and growing conditions. Start with a high mower setting to avoid scalping.
When can I use my new lawn?
Keep traffic light while roots establish. Timing varies with the season and conditions; wait until the turf is securely rooted before heavy use.
