SHAPESCAPER® Stakes are designed to securely anchor your edging system, ensuring long-term strength and stability in any landscape application. Made for quick and accurate installation, all stakes feature **precision pre-drilled holes** that align perfectly with SHAPESCAPER® edging lengths. Depending on your project, a range of staking options are available to suit different profile heights and soil conditions. The general rule of thumb is to select a stake that is more than twice the height of the edging profile for best results.

Stake Types

Ribbed Stakes — Available in 230mm, 300mm and 400mm lengths
Ideal for edging profiles between 75mm and 185mm high. These stakes are lightweight yet strong and are perfect for standard garden edging applications.

Heavy-Duty L-Profile Stakes — Available in 450mm, 580mm, 780mm and 1180mm lengths
These angled stakes provide superior strength and stability for taller profiles, commercial projects, or installations exposed to heavy use.

Installation Guidelines

- For most applications, **3 stakes per 2.4m length** of edging are recommended (spaced approximately every 810mm)
- For long, straight runs or areas with light or sandy soil, use **4 stakes per length** for added strength
- Position one stake at each end (about 400mm from the connection) and one in the centre
- All stakes are pre-drilled to align with SHAPESCAPER® edging for quick installation
- Stakes can be fixed by screwing through the aligned holes or using self-tapping screws where holes do not align perfectly
- Always ensure screws or rivets sit below the soil surface to prevent injury during maintenance

Driving & Securing Stakes

- Lower profile stakes (230mm–400mm) can be driven into the ground using a **rubber or dead blow mallet**
- To protect the top of the stake, use a block of wood if a mash hammer is used
- Higher profile stakes (450mm–1180mm) can be driven into softer ground directly
- In hard or rocky soil, pre-auger a **100–150mm diameter hole**, then backfill with compacted material or concrete

Recommended Quantities

- 3 stakes per edging length (2.4m) for curved or flexible installations
- 4 stakes per edging length (2.4m) for straight runs, steps, or unstable soil conditions
