Description
The Rouge de Marmande tomato is a popular, early-maturing beefsteak variety with outstanding flavour and few seeds. Known for its clusters of deep red, large, flattened ribbed fruit that can grow up to 9 cm (3.5 in) across, this tomato is perfect for a range of garden spaces. It matures early and thrives in temperate climates, setting fruit at lower temperatures than other varieties. For best results, Rouge de Marmande tomato plants will benefit from staking. This variety also offers excellent disease and pest resistance. The fruits contain vitamins C, A, and E, potassium, fibre, and antioxidants, making them perfect for sandwiches, salads, and sauces. How to Sow Seeds

Method: Pots
Depth: 5mm
Growing notes: Sow your Rouge de Marmande tomato seeds in spring or early summer (or all year round in subtropical and tropical areas). Sow them 5mm (1/4”) deep in pots or trays of seed-raising mixture. Transplant them into 10-15 cm (4-6”) pots in a warm, sunny spot. Transfer plants to a final garden position when they’re sturdy enough. Seedlings should emerge in 10-14 days.
