Deep Root Watering Water & Fertiliser Application Reduces Water Runoff Built-In Flow Control
Corona ComfortGEL RootIRRIGATOR is a specialised deep-root watering tool designed to deliver water and fertiliser directly into the root zone of established trees and plants. By getting water below the soil surface and closer to where roots can access it, the RootIRRIGATOR helps reduce surface runoff and water lost through evaporation.
The long probe features clearly marked watering depths and a detachable brass shut-off valve for easy control of water flow. Simply connect it to a garden hose, insert the probe into the soil to the required depth and control the flow directly from the tool. The ComfortGEL® grip provides added comfort and control when working around the garden.

Why Deep Water Trees?
Frequent shallow watering can encourage roots to remain closer to the soil surface. Deep watering delivers moisture further into the root zone, encouraging roots to grow deeper and spread further from the trunk as the tree establishes.
The RootIRRIGATOR also places water below the surface rather than allowing it to flow across the garden, making it particularly useful where surface runoff or evaporation makes conventional watering less effective.
How to Use:
- Connect the RootIRRIGATOR to a garden hose.
- Insert the probe into the soil around the tree's root zone.
- Use the depth markers on the shaft to guide the required watering depth.
- Open the brass shut-off valve to begin watering.
- Allow water to penetrate the surrounding root zone before shutting off the flow and moving to another position around the tree.
- Repeat at several locations around the root zone where required rather than concentrating all watering in one position.
Watering Depth:
The shaft features clearly marked depths at 12", 18" and 24" (approximately 30cm, 46cm and 61cm), making it easier to position water at a consistent depth within the root zone.
Water Flow Control:
A detachable universal 3-inch brass shut-off valve allows water flow to be controlled directly from the RootIRRIGATOR rather than repeatedly returning to the garden tap.
Applying Fertiliser:
The RootIRRIGATOR can also be used to deliver suitable water-soluble fertiliser directly into the root zone. Always mix and apply fertilisers according to the fertiliser manufacturer's directions and recommended application rates.
