Plant in an open position with good air circulation and excellent drainage. Use sandy, gravelly or free-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH.

Water regularly during establishment, particularly through the first summer. Once established, provide occasional deep watering during extended dry periods and avoid waterlogged soil.

Feed sparingly with a low-phosphorus fertiliser formulated for Australian native plants. Avoid manures and heavily enriched composts.

Apply coarse mulch while keeping it clear of the stem, and avoid disturbing the shallow root system.
