Description
Roma tomato seeds are a favourite 'plum' or 'egg' tomato seed variety prized by home gardeners for their great taste and exceptional disease resistance. Boasting meaty flesh and very few seeds, these popular tomatoes are acid-free and naturally sweet. Their excellent flavour profile makes them perfect for cooking, preserving, sauces, and ketchup, or even eating raw. A compact semi-bush variety, Roma tomato seeds make excellent container garden seeds - ideal for growing in small spaces. Roma tomato seeds require support to maximise yield and plant health; it’s best to stake your tomato plant in a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors. Note: The VF at the end of 'Tomato (Plum) Roma' indicates that these seeds are resistant to both Verticillium Wilt and Fusarium Wilt diseases, ensuring a stronger and more reliable crop for gardeners of all skill levels.

How to Sow Seeds

Method: Pots / Direct sow
Spacing: 75cm
Growing notes: Sow Roma tomato seeds from spring to early summer, or all year round in frost-free warm areas. Sow 5mm (1/4 in) deep in pots or trays of seed-raising mix. Transplant to 10-15cm (4-6 in) pots in a warm, sunny spot. Transfer your tomato plants to their final fruiting position when sturdy enough, spacing plants 75cm (30 in) apart each way. Water daily, and when the first truss has set, feed regularly. Pinch out the side shoots as they appear. These seeds can also be sown direct in their final position, especially for late crops.

Seedlings will emerge after 10-14 days.
