Product Information
Geohex is an innovative and cost-effective solution for erosion control. It is a permeable ground stabilisation system made from high-density polyethylene, which can be installed quickly and easily to prevent soil erosion.

What is Geohex?
Geohex is a plastic honeycomb structure that can be used for a range of applications, including ground stabilisation, erosion control, and retaining walls. The hexagonal shape of the Geohex cell allows it to interlock with other cells, creating a stable surface that can withstand heavy loads and resist erosion.

How to Install Geohex Erosion Control System
Mechanical Compaction: Prior mechanical compaction of the soil and ground base is necessary for successful performance of GEOHEX Erosion Control System. It is important to make sure that the surface is stable and not prone to movement. If needed, install extra sub-soil drainage to maintain the strength and integrity of the topsoil. This may include the use of coarse road base, agricultural piping, sand, or a combination of all three.

Sand Bed: A sand bed should be placed under GEOHEX Erosion Control System to create a flat surface and prevent rutting and subsidence due to vehicular or livestock movement. Moderate compacting of the sand bed is necessary to ensure proper topsoil leveling before installing the system.

Infill Material: The recommended infill for GEOHEX Erosion Control System is an angular stone up to 10-15mm in size, which locks together and restricts slope movement. Other suitable infill products include topsoil, sand, and fine gravel.

Turf Configuration: GEOHEX Erosion Control System can be used with any type of turf configuration or variety. Areas where the system has been installed should be inspected regularly to determine if any damage or minor subsidence has occurred.

Load Support: By increasing the effective structural integrity of soils, GEOHEX Erosion Control System creates a stiffened base layer that provides increased load support while preventing soil subsidence and erosion. It improves safety on the edge of roads, embankments, parking areas, and many other medium to high traffic surfaces.

Maximum Load Bearing Capacity: GEOHEX Erosion Control System has a maximum load bearing capacity of 1200t/sqm*, making it suitable for use in just about any type of ground and geological conditions.

Quick and Cost-Efficient: Thanks to its innovative plastic matting construction and unique connection system, GEOHEX Erosion Control System can be laid quickly and cost-efficiently, either in linear or bend sections in any weather and at any time of the year.
