Botanical name – Dianella caerulea 'Cassa Blue'
Common name – Blue Flax Lily, Cassa Blue
Description – An upright, strappy leafed native grass with deep green foliage. Widely used in all gardens and landscapes, producing blue and yellow flowers in Spring that later develop into an edible berry.
Flower Colour – Blue and yellow
Flower Period – Spring to summer
Fruiting – Purple berries in Summer
Location – Prefers a well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
Care – Low maintenance, drought and frost tolerant once established. Minimal watering required. Prune down to 100mm early Spring if needed to encourage fresh growth and apply a controlled release fertiliser for natives.
