How to Sow Seeds

Method: Sow California Wonder capsicum seeds 6mm (1/4in) deep in a seed tray or punnet filled with seed-raising mix or compost.
Thinning: When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out and transplantthem into 12cm (4in) pots.
Growing notes: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Once plants reach about 15cm (6in) tall, plant them in their final position, spacing them 50cm (20in) apart. Prepare the soil beforehand by incorporating organic matter and a balanced fertiliser to give your plants the best start. Harvest after 2-3 months when they are full-sized and glossy; earlier for green peppers and later for red peppers. Capsicums make good companion plants for tomatoes as well as flower plants like geraniums and petunias.
