Turf Underlay is a high-quality sand and soil blend formulated specifically for laying new turf and rejuvenating tired lawns. It provides a free-draining yet nutrient-rich base that encourages strong root growth and supports long-term turf health.

Application

Turf Underlay should be applied at a depth of 50–100mm to ensure your turf has enough soil volume for roots to establish. Spread evenly across the area using a soil spreader or leveller, then lightly rake the surface with a garden rake before laying your turf.

Additional Tips

For best results, use a pre-turf fertiliser before laying turf to encourage fast establishment. After laying, water in thoroughly and maintain consistent moisture levels—especially in the first few weeks.

Other Uses

Turf Underlay can also be used to top-dress existing lawns or to fill in low patches and uneven ground. If top dressing, apply in a thin layer and fertilise beforehand, as the mix is low in nutrients without additional additives.
