Cera Trap® is the effective and environmentally appropriate solution to the problem of Mediterranean Fruit Fly (Ceratitis capitata) and Queensland Fruit Fly (Bactrocera tryoni). This innovative trapping system targets both male and female fruit flies, preventing infestations before they start attacking the fruit. Install Cera Trap® in trees when the fruit is small and still developing, ideally when it reaches approximately one-third of its final size. Hang the traps on the northern side of the tree, at a height of approximately 1.5 meters, and within the tree canopy.

How to Use:

The traps should be evenly distributed throughout the garden, with additional traps in areas of high insect activity. Install the traps at least 45 days prior to fruit ripening to effectively reduce pest numbers.

How Cera Trap® Works:

Cera Trap® contains a unique protein-based liquid solution that is attractive to both female and male fruit flies. Once the lid is removed, the smell lures fruit flies into the specially designed trap, preventing their escape and causing them to drown in the liquid. The organic liquid contains no pesticides and continues to work even after many flies have drowned.

Works On:

The main crops affected by Ceratitis capitata include citrus fruits (orange, mandarin, lemon, grapefruit) and various fruit trees (peach, apricot, medlar, nectarine, cherry, plum, avocado, blueberry, fig, kaki, cherimoya, strawberry, pomegranate, kiwi, mango, apple, pear, quince, pineapple, banana, etc.).

Targets:

Queensland and Mediterranean Fruit Flies. Works on both sexes but targets females, effectively breaking the breeding cycle.
