SHAPESCAPER® REDCOR® Steel Garden Edging – 800mm Height (Special Order)

This 800mm height is only available in 2.0mm gauge and is special order only.

For most edging applications, 2.0mm is recommended. For all heavy-duty edging applications, 2.5mm is recommended (not available in 800mm height).

REDCOR® steel has been specifically developed for Australian harsh conditions. It’s cleaner to work with and displays an overall better uniform finish than imported alternatives. REDCOR® steel develops a stable oxide layer on the surface of the steel known as the 'patina'. When detailed correctly and exposed to alternating wet and dry conditions, the colour of the patina changes organically over time, giving it a striking appearance. This steel also has increased corrosion resistance, as the patina/oxide layer that forms on the surface is also a protective layer that regenerates over the life of the steel.

Weathering steel allows you to bring the natural outback look and feel to the city and into your project. It evokes images that many readily associate with Australia such as the red Australian outback and celebrates the history of the Australian landscape.

REDCOR® steel will appear light grey, almost polished, when first purchased off the shelf. This is simply because it is supplied with a thin film of oil on the outer layer, ensuring it doesn’t start rusting on the shelf. It will take anywhere from a few weeks to 4 months to get an even coating of rust.

SHAPESCAPER® steel garden edging is available in a range of heights: 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 185mm, 230mm, 290mm, 390mm, 590mm, and 800mm (special order only). All lengths are 2400mm long and can be shaped on-site into angled bends or flowing curves. Redcor® steel is equivalent in specification to “corten” steel. Pre-drilled holes help make edging installation quick and hassle-free!

How to select your edging:

- Select the profile height required for your installation. 1/3 is buried in the ground, so if you want 600mm out of the ground, you will need the 800mm length.
- Decide on the design of your gardens. Straight runs recommend 4 stakes per length, curved runs 3 per length. When selecting stakes, double the height of your selected profile is recommended.
- All joiners, screws, and rivets required are included in your order.
