Description

Harness the Power of Nature with Cactus Mate – A 100% Natural Plant Food!

Cactus Mate is a plant food enriched with plant-available silica, minerals, trace elements, organic material, and garden-friendly microbes. Contaminant-free, it excludes manures, blood and bone, or synthetic fertilizers.

What it does:

  • Improves soils and promotes healthier plants that establish faster, require less maintenance, and are less prone to rotting.
  • Helps plants resist pests and diseases and improves flowering.
  • Encourages earthworm activity.

Where and when to use it:

  • In the preparation of all new and existing cacti, succulent, or mixed gardens, especially at the bottom of the hole when planting.
  • Added to potting mix when potting up or repotting encourages faster root growth and less rotting.

How often to use it:

  • Cacti: Every 3 months for the first 12 months, then 1-2 times per year after that. Top-up dose if soil or potting mix is getting excess water.
  • Succulents: Every 3-4 months.

Application rate:

  • General Fertilizing: 300-500gm/m² (3-5 handfuls)
  • Most Planting/Transplanting Situations: 100-200gm (1-2 handfuls) to the planting hole and 200-300gm (2-3 handfuls) around the plant.
  • Problem Soil or Areas: 500-800gm/m² minimum (5-8 handfuls)
  • Pots: 1 tablespoon/200mm pot diameter

Other Important Information:

  • Allowable input for organic growers.
  • For planting in all soils or pots.
  • Contains natural rock phosphate – safe for use on all Cacti and Succulents.
  • Contaminant-free with no chemicals or animal waste products.
  • Will not burn plant foliage or roots.
  • Can be spread around existing plants or gardens.
  • Reduces transplant shock.
  • For best results, use in conjunction with other Earthlife garden products.
