Description – Telopea 'Sugar Plum' is a stunning Australian native shrub that produces brilliantly rich red blooms. Flowers are borne on the tips of branches which make perfect cut flowers. The blooms are also bird-attracting and a great food source for our native wildlife. This low maintenance native has a naturally compact growth habit and stunning deep green leaves. 'Sugar Plum' is a part of the Wild Brumby collection and comes from one of Australia's leading and dedicated Waratah breeding programs.

Care – Telopea 'Sugar Plum' has moderate water requirements once established. For garden beds, it grows best in acidic soil with good drainage. An added layer of mulch will assist moisture retention during periods of dryness. Do not fertilise young Waratah plants on initial planting. Allow plants to establish before applying an application of slow-release native fertiliser. In containers, use a native premium potting mix and water daily during the growing season. Fertilise containers with a native slow-release fertiliser after plants have settled.
