Description – Mallee Boy Waratah is a moderately vigorous variety with a bushy, neat growth habit. It produces bold, brilliant pink flowers with good form throughout the spring months, making it a great feature specimen for gardens or containers. With multi-branching stems from the base and a naturally bushy growth habit, 'Mallee Boy' is a great filler plant in multiple garden designs. It has vibrant green, narrow foliage, which compliments the bright blooms. The flowers are a great food source for native birds and provide long displays of colour in the garden.

Care – Moderate water requirements once established. In garden beds, 'Mallee Boy' grows best in acidic soil with good drainage. Apply a layer of mulch to assist moisture retention during dry periods. Do not fertilise young plants on initial planting, allow plants to establish before applying an application of slow-release native fertiliser. For containers, use a native premium potting mix and water daily during the growing season. Fertilise containers with a native slow release fertiliser after plants have settled.
