Botanical name – Sygonium podophyllum ‘Neon’

Common name – Arrowhead Plant

Description – This tough plant has small pastel pink arrow-shaped leaves. Can be grown to climb a totem, put into hanging baskets or left to trail out of a standard pot. Arrow plants are low maintenance making them perfect for beginners. 

Location – Suitable for bright indirect light indoors or outdoor shade as understorey planting for tropical style gardens.

Care – Water after top centimetre of potting mix has dried out. Reduce watering in winter. Feed with a liquid fertiliser monthly during spring, summer and autumn. Can be pruned to keep compact but wash afterwards as sap can be a skin irritant. Wash off leaves monthly. Can be weedy so do not plant into the ground near national parks.
