Common name – Albury White Crape Myrtle
Description – Albury White is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree with a vase-shaped habit. It produces masses of showy white flowers in mid-summer, which are held in long, slender panicles up to 20cm long. The flowers have crinkled edges and delicate, crepe-like petals that are both beautiful and long-lasting. In autumn, the leaves turn a deep, fiery orange-red before falling to reveal the attractive, smooth grey-brown bark of the tree.

Fruiting – Small, dry, brown capsules appear after the flowers and persist into winter.
Location – Albury White prefers a warm, sunny position in well-drained soil. It is a hardy tree and can tolerate a range of soil types, including clay, sand and loam.
Care – Albury White is a relatively low-maintenance tree. It requires minimal pruning, and once established, can tolerate drought conditions. Water young trees regularly during dry periods to encourage good root development. Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser to promote healthy growth and flowering.
