Botanical name
Impatiens walleriana 'Double Glimmer'
Common name
Double Glimmer Impatiens
Description
The Double Glimmer series features beautiful rose-like blooms and is a highly resistant replacement for the Fiesta™ series, standing up against Plasmopara destructor, the cause of Impatiens Downy Mildew. While a routine preventative spray treatment is still recommended, these impatiens provide growers and gardeners with confidence that they will continue to thrive. Perfect for shaded baskets and garden displays, Double Glimmer boasts outstanding colour and a medium-mounded growth habit.

Care
Double Glimmer thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 5.8-6.2. Water consistently to prevent stress and avoid exposure to cold temperatures below 18°C at night. Fertilise regularly at 175-225 ppm nitrogen to promote healthy growth. Minimal pinching is needed, and early applications of plant growth regulators can help achieve the ideal plant form. Pests such as leafminers and thrips should be monitored, along with potential diseases like Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus, Botrytis, and Pythium.
